A ver, mis apreciables topiles.
Step 4: Place Objects
A HeroClix Starter Game includes six standard object tokens—round
cardboard tokens that represent items characters might find on a battlefield
and make use of during the game. Tokens with a yellow border are light
objects; tokens with a red border are heavy objects; and tokens with a blue
border are immobile objects.
After Step 3 is complete, each player places any three standard object
tokens face down in a common pile called the object pile, after which
the pile is randomized. One at a time, beginning with the first player and
moving clockwise around the table, each player chooses a token from the
pile, looks at it, and places it face up on the map. If the Special Objects
Tactic is being used in the game, see Part 4 of these rules for more on
how special objects are brought into the game and placed on the map.
All objects must be placed on squares of clear terrain (see Clear Terrain,
p. 11) outside of any player’s starting area. Continue in a clockwise direction
around the table until all object tokens from the object pile are placed on
the map.
Placing special objects. After choosing and looking at a
standard object token drawn from the object pile during setup (see Step
4: Place Objects, p. 5)—but before placing it on the map—a player who
has special objects in his or her collection can choose to replace the object
token with a special object; if he or she does, remove the drawn object
token from the game. A light or heavy standard object can be replaced only
by a special object of the same type—or by an immobile special object,
which can replace a standard object of any type.
Each player can place a maximum of three special objects per game; a
particular special object can be chosen only once by each player per game.
Each player can place one immobile special object for each full 300 points
of the game’s build total. Regardless of which player places a special object,
any player can use its abilities, and all players are affected by its effects.
Special objects must be placed on the map five or more squares from
all starting areas.
1.5.2 Battlefield Condition Cards
A player is not required to bring any battlefield condition cards (BFC) to an event, but they are legal in all
sanctioned events subject to any specific restrictions of the format. Each player can add a number of BFCs
to his or her force equal to the total number of rounds in the tournament, including any championship
rounds. Players must decide which BFCs to add to their forces before the first round of the tournament
begins or the judge requires a written list, whichever comes first. None of the BFCs on your force can share
the same name, regardless of any other differences in set symbol or other markings.
After the battlefield is prepared each player chooses a BFC to use for the duration of the match from among the potential BFC they have
indicated for that tournament. All players reveal their cards at the same time. Players can choose to reveal
no card. (Players can use a placeholder card—any card-sized element except another BFC, to reveal as
“no card.”) Players can’t change their choice once it has been revealed.
At the end of the round in which a BFC has been revealed, that BFC is removed from the tournament and
can’t be revealed in future rounds (including any championship rounds). Written notation should be made
by the judge or opponent at the judge’s discretion as to which BFC was used in each round. For
tournaments both with and without force lists, you must show your opponent(s) which BFC are available to
you to reveal if requested before anyone reveals a BFC for the round.

Gigantes y Wild Cards
Giant Characters
• A giant character must be one square away from blocking terrain to destroy it.
• A friendly giant character can be moved with Telekinesis. An opposing giant character cannot.
Wild Cards
Clarifications:
• If the last character on a force possessing a team ability is KO’d, any wild card characters that are currently using the team ability can continue to use it until the end of that action. With the start of the next action, that team ability is not able to be used.
• A wild card can only use a team ability that is possessed by a friendly character on their force. It cannot use a team ability that another character is able to use (but does not possess).
• When using another team ability, a wild card team member is considered part of that team for team ability purposes; for everything else, it is a member of the team printed on its base.
• When a feat card is used that grants the possessing team members to use a different team ability, the wild card may not use the ability granted by the feat – they can only copy the team ability that is available without the feat.
• The “different action” that the wild card retains as its newly selected team ability for referred to on page 19 can be given to any character on the acting team. Whichever character makes the follow-up action, the wild card will continue to use the selected team ability.
